The Red Dress Club

I have a big announcement to make.
Actually, WE have a big announcement to make. Not the royal we. It’s me and someone else, who’s not here right now. Because, well, this is MY blog, and she has her own, and? She lives in Texas and I sure don’t. Not that there’s anything wrong with Texas. Some of my best friends live in Texas.
Anyway. Today, Ericka, the hilarious mind behind Alabaster Cow, and I invite you to join us in our new venture, The Red Dress Club.
TRDC (yes, I’m too lazy to write it out every time in this post) is a writers community, made up of bloggers who are interested in learning more about the art of writing and who want to share ideas with other like-minded bloggers. We’ll have guest posters, a weekly writing meme, and, we hope, some contests with cool prizes.
But wait. There’s more.
We also have ANOTHER blog, The Red Dress Blog. Why no link, you ask? It’s a private community. It’s a supportive place where you can submit something you’re working on, whether it’s a novel, poem, memoir, play – and the other members have the opportunity to critique it. A virtual writing group, for those who’d like to someday get something published. There’s a form on TRDC that you can fill out if you’d like to join.
And we hope you do. Join, that is. Because the blogs will only be as good as their communities.
Oh – the name? Totally inspired by this post from Jenny, aka The Bloggess. It’s simply one of the most amazing posts I’ve ever read. And now Ericka and I are putting on our red dresses over at The Red Dress Club.
We hope you’ll be there, too. Grab a button!
