The faces I love – Wordless Wednesday

by , posted on May 23rd, 2012 in Parenting, Wordless Wednesday

It’s tough to be eight and have your mom hug you on the beach. It is SO NOT COOL. Also? I love that kid. And my beautiful girl, too.

And here’s a gratuitous picture of my other little boy, who still likes to give me “huggy snugs.”

Still am amazed how I can pop out three children without one looking anything like me. And no, we will not be trying for a fourth so I can finally see something of me in one of mine. But thanks for asking.

Historically kids were supposed to look like the fathers so they would take care of them … and yet, in this day and age – we do most of taking care of too ;)

I thought they were supposed to look like their fathers so people would know who the father was, since maybe they were, er, spreading it around a bit more back in the day.

Sage has a cuter bathing suit than I do and Sawyer’s necklace kicks my jewelry’s butt.

I will avoid comparing myself to Xander since he appears to be naked and that can’t POSSIBLY work in my favor.

Either way, I love those faces. Even if they look like David instead of you. Hey. You married a handsome guy. It could be worse…

Seriously. That’s the only consolation, that at least my husband’s good-looking. If he were a troll? My poor kids! :)

At least your kids look like their dad! One of my kids looks nothing like either of us, which is fine of course but still always a little surprising.

    I love that picture!

Sage has your smile, and Sawyer has your disdain for over-sentimentality ;)
