A small thing

The rain falls, puddling on the patio, running in rivers down the street, into the drain, and onward to the ocean.
Kids are on winter vacation. They are cooped up; the rain started on Friday and hasn’t let up.
They amuse themselves with the TV, the Wii, the DS, the Bey Blades battle arena, My Little Pony, trying to keep their baby brother out of their stuff. (more…)

Happy Blogaversary to me

It’s been four years.
That’s right, newbies. And when I say newbies, I mean all of you who get excited about celebrating your two-month-aversary or your 100th post. Even your year blogaversary is, you know, cute and all. Just like running a half-marathon is cute when you’re doing the full.
My first post was July 10th, 2006. Sage was not yet a year old. I started it because I wanted a virtual scrapbook of sorts. Something a little nicer than the Word docs I used to note milestones.
I’ve come a long way. I have. This is my 679th post. Who knew I had that much to say? (more…)
