Big Time Rush and chocolate covered bacon
Wednesday, July 27th, 2011
You know the fair is in town when they find new things to fry. I mean, really?
Also? Stop effing with my chocolate. Is nothing sacred? Why don’t they deep fry someone’s femur and slather it with chocolate? You all know some idiot would eat it.
Am I the only person who goes to the fair and completely loses my appetite? I ate nothing. And yet, we still managed to spend $58 on food.
Anyway, the reason we were at the fair Friday was because months ago my friend and I bought tickets for our kids (she has three boys, including one who’s in Sawyer’s class) to see Big Time Rush. It was the first concert for Sawyer and Sage and they were SO excited (my first concert was Michael Jackson, but I’m sure BTR will be as big as him some day. Ahem.).
I have to say, they actually put on a really good show. It was hysterical how many parents knew the words to the songs. Including me. I mean, I hear them often enough, and their music, while not at all deep, is fun to listen to. Really. Also, I’m really glad they’ve moved on from the Backyardigans. Those songs were tough on the eardrums.
The best part? I sat next to Sage, and watched as she sang and danced. And I sang and danced, too, because how often will I have the chance to share this experience with my daughter?
p.s. Some day I will bring a real camera to a concert. You’d think I’d have learned my lesson after the U2 iphone fiasco, where I have no pictures from my spot next to the stage despite Bono et al being in spitting distance. But no. Sigh.
