Home at last

Saturday, August 13th, 2011

I got home from BlogHer on Sunday afternoon.

My husband left for Vermont on Monday morning.

Re-entry into the real world was not so fun.

I’m old.

And tired.

Also, I’m old and tired.

For some reason, when my husband is home, I’m passing out at 10 p.m. When he’s on the road, I’m up til 1 a.m. watching tawdry reality shows educational programming. And then one of the kids wanders in at 3:30 a.m. and a dog comes in at 5 a.m. and sits by the bed and pants and then at 6:15 a.m. the other dog is pounding on the back door to go outside and did I mention I also have a two year-old?

He finally called from the road, telling me he was about 15 minutes away.

The kids could not wait.

*I* could not wait. Not that I showered or changed out of my pjs at 1:30 in the afternoon or anything. But I was ready for a little break.

Counting the minutes…

Waiting for Daddy

Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of them then mauling Daddy for all the loot he brought back from his trade show. Or of me stepping on a flashlight or calculator or foam fish.

But we’re all home together. And it’s good.
