Look who’s talking

There was an explosion at our house this weekend.
Not the kind that requires a hosing off in the bathtub.
This one brought tears of joy to my eyes. Blinding, beautiful tears of joy.
My baby. My sweet, severely speech-delayed X. Has decided to talk.
To really talk.
Monday, at speech therapy? The SLP told me that if she didn’t know it was X, she’d think it was a completely different child than the one she saw last week. It was that amazing.
And I’m over at Sluiter Nation today to tell you all about what got it rolling. So please come by – it’s VERY happy times at the Pants House!

On the couch

When one of my favorite women, Gigi from Kludgy Mom, asked me to guest post for her, we talked about an idea or two. But when I sat down to write, something entirely different came out.
I wrote about a small, sacred moment with my daughter. The kind where you’re thankful for the age your child is now – because you know the future is only a blink or two away.
This post means a lot to me. I hope you will visit me over at Gigi’s place and tell me about your small moment with your own child.

Voice lesson

Usually I have guests over to my place. I like it here. It’s comfy. No one makes a mess, other than tossing a few kleenexes used to wipe away tears. And there are some nachos crumbs. Mine. Also, I can wear my yoga pants and nobody notices the hole in the thigh.
Today, however, I am venturing out. Packing up my snacks and stretchy pants and heading back East.
I am guest posting over for the amazing Heather at Theta Mom.
You all know her, right? Her entire blog is about community and empowering women. And she’s done a fantastic job of it.
So I’m there talking about Voice. Literary voice, that is. I hope you’ll stop by and say hello – I’m nervous about taking over someone else’s place for the day. I hope I don’t leave a trail of chips.
