Innocence preserved

I was right.
Last Valentine’s Day, you might remember my daughter received her first gift from a boy. My husband polished up the shotgun and was on high alert.
I assured him a stuffed dog was not the gateway drug to sex. Or something like that.
A year later, all innocence has been preserved. Well, almost. Yesterday my husband saw LMFAO’s video for I’m Sexy and I Know it was going to be on so he paused it so Sage could see because she loves that song. Let me just say Sage is STILL giggling about it and can never unsee that sort of, er, flappage.
Hopefully she won’t tell her kindergarten teacher about it.
Anyway. This year, Sage is in the same class as the boy who gave her the dog last year. And he informed his mother that Sage is still his girlfriend. Like, duh. Sage, on the other hand, says she does not have a boyfriend. That’s my girl!
This morning, however, they exchanged gifts. And it was, as you’d imagine, super cute.
Just don’t tell David.
